A specialist tool for complex curves
This sander is designed for complex curved components, such as the sculptural chairs by Jan Waterston, one of my favourite designers. The image below shows areas of a chair that are difficult to reach with existing tools. That challenge led to this handheld drum sander, with the battery beneath one hand and the motor beneath the other. The central sanding drum can be exchanged to change its diameter. Compared with existing tools, the concept aims to reduce strain during prolonged use through lower weight and carefully considered ergonomics.
